Why We Don’t Offer Trunk Injections

Why are we not providing  the “Approved” Solution?

Because it hasn’t worked in 30 years.

Trunk Injections ARE a big part of why we still have Oak Wilt after 30+ years.

Trunk Injections are the problem, not the solution. When something is not affordable people don’t do it. If they don’t treat, the disease continues to spread. The more it spreads, the more it grows. It’s 3rd grade math really, but no one is saying it out loud. This direction is not working, it’s time for change.

Trunk Injections are not Sustainable, Some Trees won’t last 3 rounds of drilling.

If Oak Wilt stays in the root systems for 5-10 years, and injections only last 2 years, we will have to inject a Tree 3 times in 5 years (at least). Forget Oak Wilt, the drill will kill your Trees with that many holes… Sometimes the Science works, but the Math does not.

Trunk Injections are Creating a Culture of Lesser Arborists

I understand the need for standards in Process, The benefit is a reduction in variables, and some control over them. Unfortunately when we are micro-managed we don’t have the room we need to develop our own instincts, and innovate with our experiences. We become “machines” in the process. A process developed by people in sterile labs miles away from any Trees…  Sound right to you?
